Bakka-Phoenix is the newest incarnation of BAKKA the science fiction bookstore, Canada's oldest science fiction bookstore. Founded in 1972, it has endured three owners and a move, and continues to provide the very best selection of speculative fiction in Canada. This site was developed to showcase new books and to promote in-store events, as well as to provide basic contact and location information for customers.
Nettleship's Hardware and Paint is a small neighborhood store, serving Toronto's Cabbagetown area for more than eighty years. This site is being built to showcase an estalished family-owned store in the heart of a big city.
The Bain Avenue Wine Bar is a group of friends who meet at irregular intervals to explore the wonderous variety of wines. This site was developed to provide news to the group as well as to reference each meeting with an annotated, searchable index of wines tasted.
The International Folk Dance Club is a group of folk dancers who meet every Friday night at the Faculty of Education building at the University of Toronto. This site provides information for their location and contacts, as well as Special Events listings. It was designed by Bill Baird, one of the group's organizers, who passed away in January 2004. I reworked some of the site's features (ie: the location map), and have developed the new site since then.
